Elk Falls Ranch Roads
Jurisdiction
Elk Falls Ranch roads are county roads maintained by the EFPOA.
Only street legal vehicles, no dirt bikes, ATV's, or other off-road vehicles are allowed.
These are county roads subject to law enforcement by Jefferson County and Park County Sheriff departments.
Familiarize yourself with Colorado Traction and Chain Laws.
The posted speed limit is 15 mph. For the safety of residents, pets and wildlife, please do not exceed 15 mph within Elk Falls Ranch.
SNOWPLOWING
Snowplowing is conducted, as needed, generally when total precipitation exceeds 4 inches at our mailbox area, however this varies depending on numerous factors including time of year, forecast, and temperature.
Sanding of road surfaces prone to icing is conducted on limited basis to improve traction under slick conditions. Seven sanding stations are located around the Ranch for resident and visitor use to improve traction as needed.
MAINTENANCE
Road grading is conducted on average twice per year (Spring and Fall) depending on condition of roads.
Spot maintenance to address pot holes, ruts, road corrugation, and culverts is conducted year-round on an as needed basis.
Capital improvements, such as applying road base, will be accomplished when possible within budget constraints.
resident RESPONSIBILITIES
Driveway culvert maintenance is a resident responsibility. Please keep your driveway culverts clear so that snow melt and rain runoff can flow through. Heavy rains sometimes wash out parts of the roads when culverts become blocked.
AwD or 4wD vehicles with dedicated snow or all-season tires are recommended to navigate snowy and slick conditions during the winter months.
Residents should call a Board member to report a problem area so that we may keep the roads passable.
